About the project

The BlimedOSS project, developed in collaboration between NTNU and NBBL, started in June 2019 with a group of French and Norwegian students who started this website to address the need for better communication between the residents of Karolinerveien Borettslag and their Facility Manager TOBB in the context of a refurbishment project.

The main purpose is to invite residents to play and collaborate with students to co-create a refurbishment project that would match their personal needs with sustainability goals. In order to achieve this, we would like to give a voice to the residents to express their vision and the challenges they might face via this online platform as well as real-life events.

The residents' opinions, ideas and suggestions have played a very important role during the development of the website, as the residents in the area are more clear about the good and the less good sides of the area than anyone else. We have used the residents' feedback on indoor and outdoor conditions in the neighborhood to make suggestions that can improve the current situation in Karolinerveien.

Since then, many more students have been involved in the project and we are continuously working on improving both the website itself and the research focus.

About the games

Pick your picto is a fun way for you to tell us about what you are unsatisfied with in your apartment. The pictograms are located above the model of your apartment, and By moving the mouse over the pictograms, you will be able to see a description / name of each item. Move your mouse/pointer over the pictogram and place it where it best explains the situation in your apartment.Note that there are two pictograms of each type, so you can place the same type in two different places when needed.

It is also possible to write suggestions to tell us about other problems in your apartment in the comment field bellow. It is up to you to decide if you want to share personal information or not.

Click and tip is a way to evaluate the current situation of some elements and compare it to the benefits of a refurbishment. The game starts with you picking the block you live in. Thereafter you will see the model of your block, with magnifying glasses located on specified places. By clicking on each magnifying glass, you will see a textbox under the model. In the textbox you will find a short description on today’s situation on the left, and on the right you will find the benefits of an upgrade.
